Artwork Preparation

Get Your Artwork Ready for Its Product

Find the file and layout guidance for your selected product before submitting artwork. An upload confirms receipt, not that a file is ready for production.

Start With Your Product’s Confirmed Specifications

Artwork for a printed shirt, stitched cap, contour-cut sticker, banner, sublimated mug, or laser-etched tumbler is prepared differently. Check the confirmed requirements for your exact product and production method before creating or sending a file.

Accepted formats, upload-size limits, resolution, transparency, bleed, safe areas, colour handling, cut paths, and other production details must follow the settings confirmed for the selected item. Those specifications take precedence over any general guidance on this page; do not assume a file prepared for one product will work for another.

A successful upload means the file was received, not approved for production. If artwork review or proof approval is included with your order, follow the process confirmed for that product and wait for the applicable approval before treating the design as final.

Formats & File Size

Bleed, Safe Areas & Colour

Use the confirmed bleed, safe-area, and colour settings for your product so important details stay within the finished design.

Cut Paths & Production Details

For stickers, verify contour or kiss-cut paths; for banners and other products, follow any confirmed finishing requirements.

From Artwork to Review

Prepare each file against the confirmed specifications for its product. Uploading submits it for review; it does not approve it for production.

1

Choose Your Product

Select the product, size, material, and decoration method, then check its confirmed artwork specifications.

2

Prepare the Matching File

Export artwork using the required format, dimensions, resolution, colour settings, and any applicable bleed or cut paths.

3

Submit for Review

Upload the corresponding file with the correct product selection and await confirmation of any required revisions or approval steps.

Artwork Questions, Answered

Find out how to prepare artwork for your chosen product and what to expect after you submit it.

Is my artwork suitable for production?

Suitability depends on the product and production method. Check the confirmed requirements for your order; a successful upload does not mean the file is print-ready.

Do printing, embroidery and engraving need different files?

Yes. Printing, embroidery, stickers, banners, sublimation and laser etching can require different formats, resolution, transparency, bleed, safe areas, colour handling or cut paths. Follow the confirmed specifications for your chosen product.

What if my file is too large or will not upload?

Check the confirmed file-format and size limits for your product. If the file still fails to upload, contact Ion Graphix before sending an alternative version so we can advise on the next step.

What happens if my artwork needs changes?

If artwork review is included in your confirmed order process and we identify an issue, we will explain what needs attention and whether a revised file or your approval is required before production. Do not assume an uploaded file has been approved.
